To protect your devices (currently limited to Windows based computer systems) from malware, including ransomware, you need to install our Segira DataGuard client (software) on them.
Installing Segira DataGuard on your comuter is easy:
1) Log in to our portal.
2) Download your customized installer.
3) Run the installer.
Repeat for ech additional computer or simply use a previously downloaded installer.
Segira will generate a personalized installer for you so you never have to deal with hassles
like key codes, product registration or the like. To get this process started you must first:
A) Create an account.
B) Log in.
C) Navigate to My Devices.
On the My Devices page you will see an installer panel (as seen below) at the bottom
of the list of your devices. If this is your first client installation, the installer
panel will be the only item displayed on that page:
Once generation completes your browser should initiate the download of your personal installer automatically (alternatively there will be a link to download it manually). Depending on your browser and its settings the next couple of steps may vary slightly. We have listed instructions for the detected Safari browser. If you would like instructions for a different browser, click the corresponding link here: Chrome, IE, Edge, Safari, Firefox.
Click on Run to download and execute the installer.
On some older Windows 7 systems Setup may download and initiate the installation of
Microsoft's .NET 4.5 framework, which is required to run Segira DataGuard. You
will need to complete that installation before Setup continues to install Segira
DataGuard. All Windows 8 & up systems come with this or a compatible framework
pre-installed.
If you have a 3rd party firewall product on your device it may ask if you want to allow
SegiraService.exe to connect to the internet. If so, choose to always allow this since
Segira DataGuard needs to be able to talk to the cloud in order to protect your system.
Now that you have Segira DataGuard installed on your device, the software should be communicating with the Segira cloud and should automatically initiate a scan of your system. If you left your My Devices page open in your web browser or whether you navigate there now, you should be seeing your new device and it should indicate that it is being scanned. Accessing Segira DataGuard is quick and easy. There is a new icon in your system
tray or notification area (likely visible in the lower right corner of your screen).
You may have to expand your area with the up or left arrow to see the icon. It will
always have Segira's signature logo
but may have different colors or display additional features to quickly indicate the
status of your system. For more help on the tray icon, please
